Home Visits As a successful teacher it would simply not be possible to fit in the travelling time required for doing home visits.

There are in any case very important benefits to learning in a fully equipped teaching studio that could not be replicated in most pupils’ homes. While it may be more convenient to learn in your own home, it is important not to underestimate the contribution to learning that the right professional equipment and resources can make. Read below to find out about the facilities offered by Keyquest Music.

Andrew's Teaching Studio

Andrew gives lessons at his fully equipped teaching studio (pictured below) in the heart of Milton Keynes. Situated just a three minute drive away from the City Centre, the studio offers great facilities and resources to enhance your learning.

There is also a comfortable and relaxing waiting area for families (pictured, right), overlooking the studio via glass paneled doors. And there is ample parking on site.

The studio is a pleasant environment to learn in, with good heating, lighting and air purification. It is also the administrative headquarters for Keyquest Music, so it is easy to keep track of lesson payments and dates.

Andrew's teaching Studio is equipped with great instruments and facilities, including:

  • A top-of-the-range Yamaha YUS5 piano (new 2009) regarded as one of the very best upright pianos available.

  • Yamaha Tyros 2 keyboard

  • Yamaha, Shure, Lexicon, Sennheiser, M_Audio and Beyerdynamic studio sound equipment.

  • The comprehensive range of music teaching resources includes a huge collection of sheet music and audio recordings.

  • The studio computer features Sibelius software for producing professional sheet music on site, and Steinberg Cubase 5 software for recording, alongside Propellerhead Record, Reason and ReCycle for electronic music production.

Using this equipment it is easy to record students playing the keyboard or piano, listen back and discuss the performance. This really helps pupils to develop their critical awareness and better evaluate of their playing. It is also possible to record teacher demonstrations of pieces, which can then be sent via email as MP3 files direct to pupils. This helps pupils with their practice between lessons, and serves as a good musical reminder.
